Although we were a few days earlier than the cherry festival we had an enjoyable 2 days in Young.
After we arrived and set up camp at the caravan park we headed to the Info centre to find out where you could pick your own cherries. After we were given the directions we headed off and were soon being instructed on how to pick cherries and not damage next years crop, with that we were given a bucket and told to pick away.
So we did and an hour later we had filled up our bucket or 5.6kgs of cherries and another 1 kilo digested as we picked, just to make sure this was a good cherry tree.
We spent the remainder of our time swimming in the pool, visiting the 4 op shops, hanging out at the library and being amazed by the sheer number of backpackers in the town, looking for work cherry picking.
