Outback travels III

After lunch we left Broken Hill and headed on down the road. At Wilcannia we got out and stretched our legs at the park. The ambience of Wilcannia was similar to what I had remembered with drunken locals sitting outside the pub, however at the park we had a game of cricket with a bunch of local kids and Roslaee helped blow up balloons for the birthday party that they were having.

We headed on and camped 55 klms east of Wilcannia at McCullochs Park which had its own playground and around 30 feral goats. At one stage Rosalee emptied the sink in the van and about 6 of them went under the van to drink the water. I chased them off and kept guard for the evening. Bad night sleep at this roadside stop as several trucks parked during the night with the noise of the refridgeration units kept waking us.

The next day we spent several hours at Cobar library and then headed onto Nyngan for the night. Not much to report here, except we were well and truly in Bogan country!
