After leaving our campsite and continuing to head on the dirt road we encountered a number of floodway and river crossings on a pretty good dirt road, eventually we arrived at Tunnel Creek.

We all put on our creek shoes and the two head torches that had survived our trip so far were handed out to the kids, I had purchased a new torch at Fitzroy Crossing for the purpose of this walk.

The climb into the tunnel was interesting through a couple of crevices and over some boulders and then into the tunnel. Before long we were in the main tunnel and walking in the creek as we made our way through the 1.7 klm tunnel.

The kids were having a great time and at one point Marcella was up to her chest in water and loving the walk. There was stalactites hanging from the limestone roof and there was one section where the crystals were gleaming bright.

At the mid way point there was a number of bats hanging in the roof and making quite a noise.

The Tunnel was a great place to be on a hot day and we all had fun on this walk.
