Do you think we will see monkeys in the jungle jungles Dad? asked Amelia, No I said it is very unlikely that will happen.

Whilst we didn’t see any monkeys we certainly felt like we were in a barrel tumbling down a mountain as the road into Purnululu was rough, rough and rough.

We left at 6.10 am and made it to the Rangers station by 8.30 am, but then we had another 26 klms to go to see the Southern section of the park. We all did the Domes walk and then the Cathedral walk, I did the Piccaninny Creek lookout walk, whilst the others headed to the car for a rest.

After that we did the Echidna Chasm which kept getting narrower and narrower, but this was the kids favourite walk. They all said it was like a Scooby Doo mystery movie. Oh well as long as it keeps you motivated!

Once we had returned we had lunch before heading back the 18 klms to the Rangers station for the remaining 53 klms.

Despite the rough roads it really was spectacular scenery and Purnululu is not to be missed. One may say it is like a Macchu Pichu of Australia.
