Time has been kind to many, but not so much to Wyndham. It has been battered by many cyclones and pretty much everyone reckons another cyclone would be an improvement to the place.

We found the place to be okay, we visited the Grotto and I peered down the hole to the plunge pool at the bottom, however the water was pretty stagnant so no swimming here. The King River Road was our next destination and we headed on out on the salt plains and made our way to the cave paintings and boab prison tree. The kids really enjoyed climbing in and out of this boab. On our way on this track I spotted a saltie sunning itself on the bank of the King River.

After a spot of lunch we headed into town to check out the library, whilst it was quite it was air conditioned and we hung here for about an hour until we needed to go to the toilet which were located on the other side of town.

Once refreshed we refuelled the car with diesel and headed up to the five rivers lookout, now this view was spectacular and you could see for miles. It was also a high tide so there was plenty of water.
