After arriving back in Katherine some supplies were bought whilst the kids had their second McDonald’s meal for the whole trip. There was happy smiles from their happy meals as we headed west out towards Victoria River, as we drove the temperature rose and rose.

I decided that we would camp at the roadhouse as it was only $8 extra for this than camping at Big Horse campground, which was $8 well spent I thought.

The temperature inside the van was 37 degrees at 5pm, we found some little shade and sat and waited for sunset.

Sunset came and went and it was still hot. Oh well at least it is Winter!

I went for a morning walk around the escarpment and there was some great views of the range and also of the Victoria River. After some significant school work we hit the road around noon.
