I had read an Awkward Truth about the Darwin bombing so I was pretty keen to check out the cemetery at Adelaide River, Amelia accompanied me on this journey through the cemetery. Amelia still felt sad about leaving Darwin again, but had only cried for an hour this time.

Arriving at Katherine we checked out the church where you could camp, but it didn’t look that appealing so we headed out to Nitmulik to camp out at the gorge.

This was a very good decision as it was markedly warmer here around 37 degrees and being near a pool was refreshing. The kids and I spent some time making funny faces whilst Marcella took our photos.
Later on in the evening the Kangaroos came out and were very friendly, Marcella fell in love with one with a baby Joey. So cute! she would say.

On our second day we did an early morning gorge tour which was really good and it was good to go early to avoid the heat of the day. The gorge boat trip was enjoyed by all, Marcella was our photographer for the day.

The kids had ice creams on our final night and for $36 for 6 magnums our dearest yet.
