The night sky at Avon Downs with nasty toilet in foreground.
Travelling out of Lawn Hill via Ravensleigh to Cammoweal we faced hours of endless driving on dirt, rocks and sand, not to mention a big Brahma bull walking out on the road in front of us. We stopped once to let a road train get ahead only to find that the electric brake cable had been hanging down and had come away from the brakes. Therefore we had no brakes on the van (this was later fixed at Banka Banka with Elijah’s help).
Our night stop at Avon Downs was unremarkable except for the fact that it had a scary pitt toilet with French graffiti in it. I sent Mr T in later to transcribe what this meant, which he roughly translated as “to look over the edge is to fear”, I think this was an accurate translation. Enough said on that subject.
