Three lovely days staying at the Rocky Creek War Memorial free camp about 10 klms north of Atherton, we had intended to stay one night at Mareeba Rodeo Showgrounds, but it did not look worthy enough to receive our $15.
After leaving Mt Molloy we stopped in at the Mareeba markets and purchased a bag of passionfruit, corn and tomato relish, we then headed to Rocky Creek.
Once we had established camp we headed into town and visited the Peanut Place and purchased some peanut brittle and frozen mango, both were delicious. Then it was onto the Gallo dairy farm where we were in time for milking of cows, the stench was a bit over whelming, particularly for Elijah, but we also saw baby cows and pigs and a overly friendly Turkey.
The next day we headed to Lake Tinaroo and headed around the lake doing a lot of rally driving, we saw both curtain and cathedral fig, the kids and adults both thought Catherdral was number 1. We visited the Avenue of Honour at Yungaburra and then headed back to camp via Atherton.
The final day we spent traversing the local town of Atherton, hanging at the local library, opportunity shopping for second hand books (no luck), and stacking up on groceries before our head west back into the Outback.
