Four long days on the road from Wilpena Pound to Pimba (Spud’s Roadhouse), then onto a roadside stop 46 klms from Coober Pedy, then a roadside stop at SA/NT border and then onto Yulara. The kids had been really good we packed stops in for lunch and we would clamber out of the car to be attacked by multitudes of flies that we headed back in the car and had lunch as we drove.

The driving is easy, but very boring 4 hours in the car feels like 6 or 7 and when you look at the map you have not travelled that far, especially sitting on 90 klms an hour. The vegetation changes little and there is even a few hundred kilometre stretch where no animals live as there is no road kill.

But thankfully we have arrived at Yulara.
