Before the vomits

Before the vomits

The thing with Tassie is that it is so small so you think that you can drive far pretty easy in Tassie, well you would be wrong. We left Devonport fairly early at 10 am and I thought that I had found a way to St Helens without having to go through Launceston. This was the first of many mistakes that were made this day, as we travelled slowly and had many u turns on single small farm laneways next to cows, pigs and horses. Eventually we found a town that we could locate on the map and we decided that we should now head down to Launceston as we did not want to get further lost. The trip to Launceston should take 1 hour we did it in 2 hours.

Then we headed to St Helens over the mountain ranges with many winding roads all of which took there toll on the kids. Eventually on the bends near Pyenganna, Marcella began to vomit all over her car seat! We pulled over and everyone got out not wanting to look at Marcella or her projectiles, but leave it in the capable hands of mum. Whilst I was talking to the other three kids, Amelia says she doesn’t feel well and bends over and also vomits.

We move further away from the two vomitors not wanting to look at them, or step in their vomit. Mum quickly cleans the girls up and we get back imto the car and we wind the windows down to provide fresh air for all.

The remainding 1 hr to Bay of Fires was a slow and delicate drive.

We arrived and set up camp at Cosy Corner North which was only a 100 meters from the beach.
