The first night

Rain Storm in Canberra

Rain Storm in Canberra

We arrived in Canberra at around 5pm and with dark clouds menancing in the distance we quickly tried to set up camp, however halfway through this operation the rain clouds openned up. The wind also began blowing and an amazing wind force like a mini tornado sprang up and ripped off one of the awnings on the caravan. Rosalee and the kids who had been in the caravan, ran screaming from the caravan to the car for fear that the caravan would topple over. We had been told that it never rains in Canberra and for the next 3 to 4 hours we were all inside the caravan with 50 mls of rain coming down on us.
